Cookbook Celebrates Foods of Pennsylvania

University Park, Pa.--Experienced cooks and novices alike will enjoy the variety of recipes in Seasons of Central Pennsylvania, A Cookbook by Anne Quinn Corr. The book of recipes published by Penn State Press celebrates the natural bounty of rural central Pennsylvania.
Organized by seasons, the book features more than 30 original and adapted recipes in each section. Photos and vignettes on area cooks and stories about local events and activities celebrate each season Pennsylvania style. The recipes include a wide variety of local ingredients, but also showcase the region's cultural diversity with appetizing international recipes.

"Once the land of venison and shoo-fly pie, Central Pennsylvania now enjoys foods from around the world along with those traditional favorites," said Bill Welch, Mayor of State College, Pa. "Culinary columnist Anne Quinn Corr -- a fine cook herself -- serves up savory examples of our developing Central Pennsylvania cuisine in this outstanding cookbook. The photos of our friends and neighbors preparing these dishes add spice to the dish."

Corr, who has cooked professionally for more than 30 years, teaches basic food preparation at Penn State University. Many of the recipes and photographs included in Seasons of Central Pennsylvania were first published in the author's food column in the Centre Daily Times, the newspaper of Central Pennsylvania.
